Importing a chapter
The Import Studio: files, ordering, reslicing and translation context.
6 min read
The Import Studio is the dashboard form where chapters are assembled before upload: select files, organize pages, and configure how the chapter should translate. JPG, PNG and WEBP up to 50 MB per page; individual files, whole folders, zip/cbz archives or pasted images all work.
Order, spreads & previews
Drag pages to fix the reading order, mark double-spreads, and check everything in the full-screen preview before committing. The upload applies exactly what you see — pages are stored and dispatched in that order.
Reslicing webtoon strips
Long webtoon uploads can be re-cut into readable pages: the strips are merged back into one continuous image, then cut again along bubble-free lines. You confirm a cut proposal before anything is applied — cuts never land on detected text, and a preview run lets you adjust before committing.
Reslicing only changes how readers page through the chapter — the artwork itself is never cropped.
Translation context
Set per chapter at import: None translates each page on its own; All pages runs the whole chapter as one rolling story context — names and tone carry across pages; Manual groups lets you assign pages to groups (from the toolbar) that each translate with their own rolling context.
A group waits for all its pages to finish OCR before translating — it never translates half-cocked.
- 1In the Import Studio, set Translation context to All pages or Manual groups
- 2In manual mode, select pages and assign them a group from the toolbar
- 3Grouped pages show a G badge on the chapter page
- 4Dispatch — each group shares one rolling context
